Tasting notes
The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes we grow here in the Columbia Gorge are richer in depth and complexity than grown in other regions in Oregon. This Rose is a classic blend used often in French champagnes. From our Block E, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier. Dry with a hint of strawberry and citrus.
Production notes
We picked all at 24.0° brix, destemmed and allowed the grapes to wild ferment in bins at 65° for 3 days, then inoculated with a yeast for another 7 days to extract as much color and flavor as possible. Punch down occurred twice daily, taking care not to smash the seeds. When fermentation was complete, we gently pressed and then barreled and aged all 3 grapes for 9 months in French oak.
Other notes
Home to the ridge and valley topography created by some millennia of volcano activity and fed from the ancient waters of Mt. Hood's Eliot Glacier, the Columbia Gorge provides the perfect sanctuary to grow grapes, producing a flinty crispness always high in minerals and deep in flavor.

The spring of 2021 showed slightly warm weather from 39°-50° then plunged into hot temperatures the end of March from 75°-95° through September, while June, July and August showed spikes over 100-116 °. Hot mornings required irrigation to provide moisture as there was not much rainfall for this year.
This vineyard produced very lovely medium sized grapes with intense concentrated flavors as this berry produced a rich brown seed and the golden rose skins and white flesh Columbia Gorge Chardonnay and deep purple berry Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier are known for.
